The Ultimate Insurance From The Elements
The combination of ventilation and weather protection makes louvres an essential product for a variety of builds, but it is their application in data centres that is currently driving demand. These highly-sensitive, high performing environments require consistent airflow and air pressure while being safeguarded from the elements. With valuable data and equipment – and reputations – at risk, organisations can’t afford to settle for second best.
Construction Specialties is the only Australian manufacturer producing louvres that are tested and certified by the Air Movement and Control Association International (AMCA).
We have invested in this certification to assure our Australian clients and partners that their most critical assets are protected while ensuring optimal ventilation for HVAC performance.
The AMCA Difference
Australia is experiencing more extreme weather events than ever before, and the CSIRO predicts high-intensity storms with increased rainfall will become even more prevalent. As the first line of defence in a façade from adverse weather events, understanding louvre performance – and the degree of protection they provide – is essential.
The key to determining just how well a louvre will perform? The AMCA Standard 500-L test.
While the more commonly used AS/NZS 4740 Standard tests for the ingress of wind-driven rain through a louvre, the simulation may not adequately reflect possible exposure to valuable equipment. AMCA’s test conditions simulate far more severe wind speed and rainfall intensity to demonstrate more real-world louvre performance.
Construction Specialties louvres have excelled under AMCA’s test conditions, proving resistance to winds as high as 80 kmph that drive 203mm of water per hour, with the RS-5605 receiving Class A (99%) effectiveness rating.
Designed for Efficiency and consistency
The RS-5605 architectural louvre excels at maintaining high airflow while preventing air pressure drop, and is trusted by some of Australia’s largest cloud computing companies for use on Tier 4 data centres. With 99.999% up time, Tier 4 data centres require strictly-regulated, consistent air temperature and ventilation to ensure optimal system efficiency.
With Construction Specialties architectural louvres, organisations can reduce energy usage by maximising airflow for downstream cooling systems, filtration, HVAC and air handling units, delivering operational and environmental savings. CS louvres ensure peak mechanical performance and efficiency, ensuring the HVAC equipment meets or exceeds its life expectancy.
Local Production Cuts Supply Times
Construction Specialties has invested in local production and local sourcing of raw materials, enabling the delivery of industry-leading louvres while cutting supply timelines. Our factory in Condell Park, NSW, can supply product in as little as eight weeks – less than half the time of international manufacturers.
Our Sydney-based factory is the only facility in Australia to produce louvres that are certified to the AMCA standard.
Australian manufacturing means we can not only deliver materials faster but, if the capabilities or scale of a build change, we can quickly accommodate project needs.
With knowledgeable team members across the Eastern Seaboard, we are able to meet with clients, specifiers and builders to help determine the right product to meet project requirements. Our approach is to be highly consultatory, making a technical, complex product like louvres easy to specify, purchase and use.
