Adding to its portfolio of architectural solutions, CS UK Ltd has launched a range of louvres to provide architects and engineers with an aesthetic screening solution, which allows maximum airflow and provides a highly efficient rain defence.
With 60 years global manufacturing experience in high performance louvres, CS can meet any building requirements – whether for performance or screening – with its Storm Resistant and Standard ranges.
Ideal for plant room environments, which require increased ventilation and shelter from water, CS’s Storm Resistant performance louvres feature blade design and spacing that allows a large amount of air to pass through, whilst ensuring an increased protection against rain ingress.
Screening or Standard models primarily offer maximum airflow but also provide a level of protection against rain ingress. With a simplified blade design and increased blade spacing, the standard range is used for projects where occasional water penetration is not a primary concern, such as car parks.
Simon Hunter, Product Manager at CS said: “We began manufacturing and selling louvres through our US operation over 50 years ago, and it is actually what our company was founded on. A combination of our experience and extensive testing enables us to boast a high performance product, which is compliant in line with all global building codes.
“Our unrivalled knowledge of the product and its application allows us to offer expert advice, in every aspect of specification. This includes location, exposure, airflow performance and even the aesthetics. And importantly, we can ensure the right size of louvre is installed to ensure that the correct air volume is produced, as specified by the engineer.”
In accordance with BS EN 13030:2001, CS’s louvres are tested on two key performance areas; effectiveness (the ability to restrict rain penetration) and efficiency (how easily air can flow through it). This then leads to a categorisation for overall performance.
CS Louvres can be supplied in a variety of finishes including a 20 year flouropolymer powder coat finish. In line with BS 3900-E19:1999, this durable coating has achieved a hardness rating of 4H, in the ‘determination of film hardness by pencil test’. The non-toxic, VOC-free coating is harder wearing than alternative liquid fluoropolymers and has a much greater life than standard polyester powder coatings.
