St. Vincent’s Private Hospital was established in 1922 by the Sisters of Charity and has become the largest acute private hospital on the Darling Downs. Their services include medical, surgical, maternity, paediatric, emergency, cardiac, rehabilitation and intensive care.
As part of a recent upgrade to the lower ground floor and 5 operating theatres, the hospital wanted to install a collection of artwork and local imagery to improve the patient experience. St. Vincent’s Hospital originally looked at bespoke printed wallpaper products, but there were concerns over the durability these types of products offered. During their research phase St. Vincent’s found CS Acrovyn by Design, a bespoke printed wall protecting sheet.
In total CS supplied 40 panels of bespoke printed Acrovyn by Design throughout the lower ground floor and the operating theatres. The artwork chosen for the wall murals were a series of photographs commissioned by the Director of the Hospital to highlight flora that is found in the local Toowoomba region, as well as a bright, digital illustration of some trees.
The final installation is praised by all who have seen it and, because the artwork is embedded within Acrovyn by Design it will withstand the tough hospital environment.
