Why CS Fire Barrier Systems
CS Fire Barrier systems can be installed more easily and in much less time than most conventional fire barrier systems.
This is due to the simple components that make up the systems, and because no fire caulks or complicated and expensive transition mitres are required for installation.
Construction Specialties Fire Barrier Systems have been manufactured and tested to provide optimum fire protection when properly installed in the intended environment.
However, no amount of testing can guarantee a 2-hour rating in every application. For that reason we urge you to contact us direct or to contact your local CS representative for selection assistance during the initial stages of project development.

Jointofeu Fire Barrier
A CS Expansion Joint Fire barrier offering a simple solution to maintaining fire integrity in movement / expansion joints.
Jointofeu® ropes are the ideal fire barrier for small to mid-sized expansion joints. Fully compliant with EN norms and thoroughly laboratory fire tested.
The Jointofeu® the ropes also provide excellent acoustic and thermal insulation.
- 3 models available to suit 20, 40 and 60mm joint widths.
- Supplied in 18 or 20 metre rolls (depending on model chosen).
- Fully fire tested
- Supplied complete with a suitable fire retardant adhesive.

Monoflex (OFX)
A blanket style system designed for a wide range of joint widths and large movement requirements. Composed of layers of fire barrier material encased in a stainless steel foil, supplied with integral galvanised steel flanges.
- Designed for 25mm to 505mm nominal floor and wall joints
- ANSI/UL 2079 tested for 1-hour and 2-hour rating (see table for details)
- Test included cycling capabilities of ±50% horizontal expansion / contraction movement and shear movement.
Models
FB-97
FB-97 utilizes multiple layers of ceramic insulation separated by air space.
The barriers’ insulation design allows FB-97 to maintain the required temperature limit for 2 hours while open to 72 inches.
FB-97 is available with optional 100% lateral shear capability for 4-way movement.
Joint Sizes range from 7″ to 36″.
Monoflex
Monoflex fire barrier is a blanket type barrier designed for 1”-20” nominal floor and wall expansion joints.
Monoflex has been tested and proven to provide up to 2-hour fire endurance rating, minimize smoke passage and accommodate dynamic movement without degradation of the material.
Joint Sizes range from 1″ to 20″.
Multiflex
Multiflex® is a patented system of insulation layers encapsulated in stainless steel mesh.
The mesh keeps the insulation in place and allows up to 50% lateral shear, a unique feature in the industry.
Multiflex® is supplied in standard 10’ lengths.
Joint Sizes range from 1″ to 20″.
