Zip Block (ZB) is a water-proof, one-piece extruded EPDM elastomeric seal with integral nosings, which is bonded to the substrate with high strength epoxy adhesive.
Zip Block is much stronger than traditional elastomeric concrete systems providing a problem-free long-term joint solution.

Why Zip Block (ZB)
Traditional Methods
Winged seals with elastomeric concrete fail regularly.
Wheeled impact causes hairline cracks in elastomeric concrete in typical applications. Through further wheeled impact, cracking becomes more severe until the seal’s wing pulls away.
ZIP BLOCK
A one-piece EPDM rubber system.
The shoulder of the Zip Block is substantial enough to withstand wheeled impact (even snow ploughs), regardless of the condition of the slab edge below. ZB’s epoxy bond holds under constant deflection and temperature changes.
RIGOROUSLY TESTED
Zip Block has been subjected to rigorous testing, including rolling loads of 1,350kg per wheel, with simultaneous vertical slab deflection; sub-zero temperature testing, including several freeze-thaw cycles; and all applicable ASTM cycling tests. At 35,000 cycles the seal exhibited no wear or tear from the rolling load.

Materials, Colours & Finishes
EPDM elastomeric seal available in Black. Floor to wall models include a mill finished, formed aluminium ledge angle.
Fixings
Floor: Installed using CS supplied high-strength epoxy adhesive and Black urethane sealant
Wall angle: Fixings (by others) to suit substrate at 450mm centres
Note: The standard adhesive used with ZB models is not compatible with bituminous finishes, such as asphalt. Please contact us for alternative solutions.
Note: To ensure successful installation of the system the substrate temperature at the time of installation should be 5°C or above.
Stock Lengths
The ZB seal can be supplied in a range of lengths to facilitate jointless installation, but handling need to be taken into consideration due to the weight of the product. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
